Candied Rose Petals DIY
Posted on November 30th, 2011Although roses are not my favorite flowers {can you guess which flower is?}, I do love their smell and their large petals that are perfect for candying. Candied rose petals can give your sweet table a glistening magical touch that is so fitting for winter weddings or festive holiday soirees. Here is a simple DIY that you can try. The photography by Eric Wolfinger is gorgeous!
To begin remove the petals from unsprayed roses.
With a soft bristle paintbrush gently coat the petals with egg whites.
Place the petals carefully in a bowl of sugar and cover petals with sugar.
Be sure to completely cover the roses with fine organic sugar.
Leave candied petals on bakers rack to dry.
Use the table to garnish your pastries, cakes, and dessert plates. Of course, use caution when handling raw eggs products.
