Bill Gaytten for Christian Dior
Posted on February 3rd, 2012Cinched waists, diaphanous skirts, heavily tiered ball gowns, and billows upon billows of tulle mesmerized the guests at Christian Dior’s summer 2012 couture show. Models dresses in feminine silhouettes graced the runway with simple an subtle makeup and perfectly coiffed hair.
Bill Gaytten, head of creative direction for the fashion house synonymous with the word couture, shows us that pretty and feminine has a place in the world of haute couture and many would agree.

Haute Hippie Spring 2012 Collection
Posted on January 25th, 2012Is there such a thing as being a Haute Hippie? Well of course. When I think of a “haute hippie” one fashion icon comes to mind immediately…Nicole Richie. She has taken the hippie style of dressing and made it haute….but this isn’t about Ms. Richie. I just wanted to set the stage for the line I’m about to share with you just in case you couldn’t picture a haute hippie. Need another? Chloë Sevigny occasionally fits that bill, too.
Back to the program…
The Haute Hippie brand has really laid the romance factor on thick this season with lace, chiffon, silk, and floor skimming skirts. The line takes you from Paris, to Provence, and then Morocco all mixing to create a bohemian collection of lovelies. Add a few throwback silhouettes from the 70’s and with lovely embellishments and you have a boss {60’s hippie slang for “cool”} spring collection for the modern boho trendsetter.

Valentino Resort 2012
Posted on July 20th, 2011…delicate, soft, and pretty are just a few words that come to mind when describing Valentino’s Resort 2012 collection. Sheer sleeves and floor grazing dresses are key pieces in this collection. With its easy and subtle nod to the ‘70s, this collection is a perfect combination of tailored femininity with pieces that could easily make an appearance down a wedding aisle.

Pure Couture Christian Dior
Posted on January 26th, 2011The Spring/Summer 2011 Christian Dior collection screams my favorite words to describe the perfect collection…”Lady-like Glam”. The fashion show took place at the Musee Rodin in Paris where guests and lovers of the fashion world gathered to watch John Galliano’s haute couture collection for Christian Dior. Magnifique!

Vogue September 2010 – Covers from Around the World
Posted on September 5th, 2010Vogues’ September issue is always their biggest issue and my most favorite. I was curious to see what the other covers around the world looked like. Surprisingly, I found all but one.
Miranda Kerr landed two Vogue covers this year. Spain and Italy’s which happens to be in 3D.
The only cover I could not locate a clear enough image of is Brazil’s. Apparently, their website was inaccessible when I created this pos however, you can see it here.
As much as I adore our cover, I think the layout of Australia’s is most appealing. Which one is your favorite?
United States

Paris

Australia

Japan

China

Greece
