The Dior Suite at the St. Regis Hotel
Posted on December 19th, 2011A few months ago I blogged about the Tiffany Room at the St. Regis hotel in New York City and shortly after that, and much to my surprise, I had the pleasure of spending a weekend at a St. Regis property here southern California. It was such a lovely room and the service was impeccable. I felt like a duchess and could not imagine it getting any better than that. Oh but it does…
As much as I would like to find out what one of their atelier appointed rooms looks and feels like in person, I am afraid for now, I will have to wait for that dream to come true. The St. Regis Dior suite is the latest of the atelier appointed rooms and it is the stuff that travel dreams are made of. The Tiffany room is gorgeous but this room is beyond chic and is my favorite of the two. Painted in the fashion house’s signature “whispering gray” this room is appointed with subtle opulence. In rich and soothing tones of gray, gold, and caramel, it is the perfect place to unwind and relax after a day of sightseeing or shopping.

The Art of Travel
Posted on August 30th, 2011Travelling is such a big part of my life. My first trip ever taken overseas was at six months old! I inherited the travel bug from my mom and now I am married to a world traveler. Years ago when one travelled, one dressed to the nines. I so wish that was the case again. How pleasant would it be to see a plane filled with well-dressed men and woman jetting off to their next destination? I am an old soul {Mad Men is my favorite show} and I long for the days gone by. David and I are still away and are flying back home this afternoon and I did not want to leave you without a post. I came across these beautiful images and thought, “How wonderful {and expensive} would it be to travel so luxuriously!” Amazing Louis Vuitton trunks filled with gorgeous frocks for every meeting, dinner party, or stroll along the Champs Elysees {at midnight of course, which we have done!}. Enjoy the images my lovelies…see you back here soon!

{enchanting places} Garden Marqueyssac
Posted on April 3rd, 2011I was visiting my friend Sarah’s blog, Haute Design, when I came upon one of her many beautiful posts that made me linger on its images longer than usual. Lingering on images on Sarah’s blog is the norm for me. Her blog is filled with such beautiful posts, one cannot help but linger.
On this visit I came across the most interesting images of a garden I had ever seen. Not just any garden, this is The Garden Marqueyssac located in, Dordogne France. As Sarah so perfectly stated, it is truly “breathtaking.” The only word I can add to describe this garden is “enchanting”…
