{inspiration board #64} Summer Getaway
Posted on April 18th, 2011Do you remember taking summer road trips with your parents as I child? I sure do. Loading up the car and making sure no one has forgotten anything…or anyone. That is what this board reminds me of. My family and I would spend lazy afternoons discovering the towns’ shops that were waiting to be explored. Those are some of my best childhood memories.
I love the various shades of violet, lavender, and purple in this board. These colors are often used with a neutral palette to give it that “pop” of color. The feel of this board is calm and serene just like the perfect lazy summer day. Wouldn’t you agree?

{inspiration board #63} Behind the Blue Veil
Posted on April 15th, 2011On my travels around the web, I came upon the image you see below of the lady behind the blue veil and without having any idea of when and how I would use it, I saved it. Not only did the color captivate me, her expression behind the veil did even more. Is she hiding something, is she revealing her face or is she covering it. The image evokes mystery and mysteries instantly intrigue me. I usually use more images to create an inspiration board but for this board the four images chosen are perfect.
Doors and rooms always tell a story even if it is a made up one. Who walks through those doors and what is behind them. Who sleeps in that bed? What can they see when they look out their window? Who collected all those items in the pan and why? Do they have any meaning? My imagination always gets the best of me whenever I create a board. I hope when you view them yours does too.

{inspiration board # 62} By the Sea
Posted on April 11th, 2011As beautiful as Paris is, and she really is, there is so much more to France than the City of Lights. Normandy, known for the invasion of troops that stormed the beaches and scaled the cliffs on June 6, 1944, is rich with French culture and beauty. Normandy abounds with historic monuments, amazing cuisine, and 360 miles of coastline.
If you are ever in Normandy, be sure to visit Giverny, home of the famous painter Claude Monet and the famous Monet gardens. By now you can guess that I created this board with Normandy in mind. In case you are wondering, you can actually get married in the mansion you see below. Talk about a fairytale!

{inspiration board #61} Orange You Glad She Said Yes!
Posted on March 14th, 2011This board is a modern day take on the character, Holly Golightly, played by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Tiffany blue and various shades of orange from peach to tangerine creates the perfect palette for a spring or summer wedding.
The image with “SHE” printed is a board printed with 25 things the groom loves about his future wife. How cool is that idea? Very, I would say!

{inspiration board # 60} Eternal Love
Posted on March 10th, 2011The Taj Mahal is a constant reminder, to the world, of how one man loved a woman. Thankfully, you do not have to make such an opulent and grand gesture to show your love. Building a shrine in your heart is good enough for most. What story will your love tell one hundred years from now? It is never too late to begin.

{inspiration board # 58} Honey Child
Posted on February 24th, 2011Spring will be here soon and I cannot wait.To me, the sun shines brighter in spring than any other season; it’s almost golden. Maybe it’s because we long for it after a cold a dreary winter. The feeling of this board is warm and bright with a touch of sweetness…like honey.
Gold works well with most neutrals and compliments griege and earth tones perfectly. Don’t be afraid to mix similar golden tones together. Gold is best used as a an accent color however it’s such a feel good color you may want to use it as a primary color in your palette. Gold also It helps bring life to a more muted palette.

Inspiration to Reality on Style Me Pretty
Posted on January 28th, 2011Do you remember the inspiration board I created a few months back named “River’s Bend”? Well, Style Me Pretty along with a team of exceptionally talented vendors in the wedding industry {Millie Holloman Photography & Jennifer of Salt Harbor Designs to name a few} turned this inspiration board…

…into this amazing photo shoot shot at the Brooklyn Arts Center at St. Andrews in North Carolina. I am only showing you a sneak peek you will have to visit Style Me Pretty here to see the rest of this shoot! It is absolutely stunning! I am beyond excited about how this photo shoot went. In my mind, I had a vision and it was perfectly captured. I am in love with this shoot!
Here is what was said about the board and the shoot:
When we were choosing a board, we wanted one that spoke to the venue itself. Naomi’s board was perfect. Her work has so many layers and meanings, and this board was no different. To us, it was about sanctuary—the sanctuary that marriage provides for two people—a protected refuge from the world. But even beyond that, it seemed to speak both to the literal sanctuary that is the main ballroom of the Brooklyn Arts Center and to the architectural sanctuary that exists in this restored historic building. We wanted to capture these ideas in the pieces of our design, so we focused on things that protect and cover, things that suggest that although the rest of the world may be cold and bitter, there is warmth in the space between two people.
Some of my favorite images out of many…
The tablescape is perfect and the “brides” dress is ethereal.
The candles lining the aisle to the altar took my breath away.
There is such meaning and ritual in the washing of a loved one’s feet. I get chills thinking of how the vendors felt the day of this shoot.

Inspiration Board # 57 – River’s Bend
Posted on December 5th, 2010I am in constant awe of nature. The colors, the textures, the changing of Earth’s canvas with the start of every season. In nature, you can stand witness, right before your very eyes, to the perfect ever-changing canvas painted by an invisible hand.
Colors in nature never clash and unlike other elements in nature they do not fight to be seen or heard…they just are. Like a beautiful flower, or a tree sometimes as in nature, to be noticed all one must do is be still.
