  • Slow Down…

In a perfect world we would sleep or rest whenever we needed to. We would leave the windows of our homes open without the worry of being disturbed by the outside. This week, I realized that I must take time to rest or my body will shut down. How do I know that? Because it did.

Giving our body the rest it needs will keep the creative embers of our soul lit. If we do not, the fire that fuels the temple of our soul, the essence of our creativity, will surely die out leaving us empty. You cannot give of yourself if you have nothing left to give.

May your weekend be filled with moments of restful peace and divine reflection.

  • The Garden of Creativity: Your Mind!

    Posted on March 12th, 2010

Clear your space, clear your mind, and restore your creativity by making room for so much more.

3172220197 50c45f16ef o The Garden of Creativity: Your Mind!

Similar to a garden, thoughts and ideas, bad or good, take root in our minds. These thoughts and ideas can grow out of control distracting and keeping us from doing our best work. Clear out what has been keeping you from cultivating and nurturing your best ideas. Maybe it is something that you thought would work but it did not and now you are having a hard time letting it go.

Go ahead, get rid of the weeds and dead flowers; there is no room for the new with them there. Make room for new seeds (ideas) in your garden (mind) and watch them take root. Tend to the garden in your mind and the blooms will be brighter and the grass much greener.

    Have an amazingly creative weekend!

  • Keep Calm & Carry On!

Wow, what a week! I went to bed late every night. I tried to go to sleep early but Jake, our Bichon Frise, got sick the two nights that I could have. On top of that my husband was in Europe (so no help there), I had deadlines to meet (personal and business), and it felt like there was not enough time in the day.

Then the “doubt disease” crept in. I began to question the decision I made to leave corporate event planning. What was I thinking? Can I really do this? Will I be successful? Will I stick to my goals? It was awful!

Then it came to me, I spoke the good into existence in my life. I gave it wings with positive thoughts, affirmations, prayers, daily pep talks in the mirror, and believing in the decision I made. I knew that if I continued to give my doubt and worries energy, they too would grow wings and take flight.

That is why the sign below is so fitting for me. When I started my business, I pressed on with the conviction and belief that I can do it successfully …as long as I kept calm and carried on! Guess what? Everything fell into place better than I could ever imagine and it continues to get better every day!

Have a wonderfully magical weekend, my friends! Just remember to…

Have A Wonderful Wished Filled Weekend!

    image thumb7 Wishes

    My Wishes…

I wish your children laugh louder than they ever have and  you hear it.

I wish the love of your life loves you and knows how lucky they are to have you.

I wish children in the world could hold onto to their innocence as long as God intended them to.

I wish that life could be as meaningful to those who think that life is not worth living as it is to those who are holding onto their last years or moments.

I wish that your blessings are more than both of your hands can hold.

I wish that every prayer made by children, all over the world, for love and safety will come true.

    XOXO

Stop the habit of wishful thinking and start the habit of thoughtful wishes.

  • Do We Need A Designated Day to Remind Us How to Love?

    Posted on February 14th, 2010

Do We Need A Designated Day to Remind Us How to Love?

Today is Valentine’s Day…a day that most people choose to demonstrate how much they love their significant other. Why do most of us wait until February 14 to show those, whom we should be showing all year, how much we love them? I say celebrate love all year as if everyday was the day you “woke up” and realized you were in love. If you celebrate the love you and your partner have for each other all year long, Valentine’s Day would be a day left for the amateurs. The amateurs are those who have yet to realize that demonstrating your love is an everyday commitment. Trust me; you cannot make up for all the missed moments on February 14.

Not that there is anything wrong with celebrating Valentine’s Day, but imagine how much better your relationship would be if you both celebrated the love you have for one another as if everyday was Valentine’s Day. It sounds cliché but it is true; it is the little things that count. A handwritten letter, a back rub, a passionate kiss as you pass one another in your home, a note on the bathroom mirror, or just giving each other space when needed. All of these are acts of love.

So on this designated day of love, make a promise to yourself to continue to show your love even after this day has ended; commit to show your loved one everyday why you chose them. It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture. Keep it simple and start with a kiss on the forehead; many will agree, it is the most endearing kiss ever bestowed on a lover.

I wish you and your loved ones today, and all your tomorrows together, a very blessed and love filled Valentine’s Day.
