• A French Manor

As long as I can remember, and before I ever had the pleasure of visiting France, I knew that I would one day have a home there. It is the only place that I have ever said, at first blush, “I will live here one day”. It is not a dream it is living goal that I work at daily.

That dream now includes a French manor. I came upon this amazing French manor on Coco Cozy and had to find out more about this home and the photographer. It also helps that all of my favorite colors and hues have been used to paint the manor. The images are taken by Gilles Trillard and showcase the beauty of French décor, architect, and a finesse for placement that seems inherently French. How lovely would it be to have a home so beautifully appointed and so elegantly designed? I

I cannot help but love the color palette of this manor. Gray, pinks, and black…and of course  gold must be present. The decorative moldings on the doors are simply gorgeous not to mention a marble fireplace.

Pink walls, gray double doors and a black settee make the perfect “waiting room” adjacent to the formal living room. The iron light fixture is perfect.

I love painted wood floors. They are so unexpected.

Checkered tiles and wood floor, gray claw foot tub, and an architectural surprise perfectly placed to hold guest towels.

If you cannot have an all pink kitchen, opt for pretty details like an unexpected pink trash can. It is the perfect “accessory”.

…imagine the perfect summer day spent relaxing in the splendor of nature in such a perfect setting? Bright pink blooms give vintage bottles a fancy fill set next to rose colored glasses to compliment the romantic mood. A hammock and heirloom quilts await the first of many naps to be taken on the perfect summer day…

The colors in this gorgeous image by, Anna Williams, reminds me of a beautiful spring wedding. Persimmon, spice, and saffron are the perfect compliments needed to liven up the various shades of mauves and pinks.

Parrot tulips, mini cattleya orchids, deep orange gloriosa lilies, dahlias, and everyone’s favorite, ranunculus are perfect flowers that can be used in the bridal bouquet and decor. For greenery and texture, add hanging millet to the bridal bouquet .Create gorgeous centerpieces by incorporating fruit such as peaches, oranges, tangerines, and edible berries. What a gorgeous palette to for an early spring or summer wedding!

This inspiration board is abounding with soft colors! Shades of brown are used to enhance and liven up the various shades of blues and pinks without being too distracting or overbearing. Because of brown’s ability to work with almost any color combination, it is often used to accent and pull the softer elements of a palette together. The colors in this board would work well in a winter or spring wedding.

Even in sunny southern California, the weather has begun to change. I can feel the slight chill in the air and the colors of the sunsets are suddenly richer and deeper. Very much like the colors we associate with autumn.

For now, I will put away the sundresses that I wore to gatherings and exchange the sleeveless tanks for pull over sweaters. I will eagerly wait for the first cool day to wear my favorite pair of boots. Eventually, I will move the cardigans to the front of the closet so that I remember to bring one with me for our evening strolls during which, I am sure, Mr. G and I will talk about the summer that ended all too soon.
