I want
Posted on June 27th, 2010… this Hollywood Regency style mirror for my home office. It could use a little hot pink pop amongst the modern gray, white, and black decor. Found this and a whole mess of wonderful wants on the Etsy store Fabulousmess.

Inspiration Board # 49 – Not So Shabby Chic
Posted on June 10th, 2010There is something so rich and beautiful that happens when gold and fuschia are paired. Together, gold and fuschia create a sophisticated palette with little effort.
To create a look similar to the board below for your wedding, use vintage cake stands, mis-matched tea cups, and mini-chandeliers in various lengths above your dessert or reception tables. Place different types of flowers in various shades of pink and fuschia on your reception tables to further enhance your shabby chic theme.

A Dessert Table by Eat Drink Pretty
Posted on June 8th, 2010I am sharing this with post because it is absolutely beautiful. Jenna of Eat Drink Pretty created this amazing dessert table which you probably saw shots of on everyone’s favorite blog, Style Me Pretty. Jenna, along with a great team of family, friends, and vendors, created this special dessert table to celebrate the anniversary of her blog. I think the celebration will be relived again once you see the photos below and the additional photos she promises to share.
I never met Jenna but we are Twitter buds and I must sing her artistic praises. Jenna you rock! Happy anniversary, Eat Drink Pretty! Remember to check back Jenna’s blog for Part II!

Inspiration Board # 47 – The Sweetest of Days
Posted on May 27th, 2010Colors like magenta, aqua, purples, and plums make for a fresh summer palette. Use various shades of any of these colors to create a bright and happy feel for an outdoor mid-summer wedding. The colors of the setting sun against a blue sky will play beautifully amongst these colors!

Inspiration Board # 44 – Keepsakes
Posted on May 18th, 2010
Keepsakes are items we usually put away, kept out of sight, sometimes, in the back of a draw or forgotten closet until something, like moving into a new home, brings it out of hiding. This rediscovery causes an instant flood of of memories and emotions that we have temporarily put aside.
We find it hard to let go of a sweet love letter, old photo booth picture, movie ticket, or pressed flower because its presence reminds us of a time and place or a past love so strong that just by sight this keepsake takes us back to the very moment it became irreplaceable.
David and I decided that we needed a fresh start before we move into our new home. So of course, that meant getting rid of 3000 square feet of stuff. I came across many keepsakes that I wanted to keep. A few old letters, a few carnival stubs, plane tickets, the list goes on. We are moving into a home half the size of the home we will leave behind today. Why? We realized two people and a dog do not need a four-bedroom house with three bathrooms. It has forced us to reassess what really is important to us.
Call it what you may downsizing, scaling back, getting rid of stuff. We decided instead of filling a home with tons of furniture we hardly use or need (who really needs two living rooms, or two dining rooms?) we will now concentrate on filling our lives with more meaningful things like memories. We will add more memories, to the many we already have, by spending more time together traveling, exploring new places, and the most beautiful discovery of all… the continuous task of discovering one another. We will try to become each other’s living keepsake.
Of course, I will keep some of the things that can never be replaced; pictures of me and my deceased father, my grandmother’s sandalwood fan that I carried the day of our wedding, and my mother’s gold bangle bracelet, to name a very select few. The other stuff that I have let go of are not really gone for good… they will always remain in biggest storage box I have…my heart.

Inspiration To Reality – Brancoprata & Style Me Pretty
Posted on April 23rd, 2010One of my favorite bloggers in the world Sofia of Brancoprata, was chosen by Abby Larson of Style Me Pretty (another favorite) to have their amazingly beautiful, sexy, and girly inspiration board come to life! All the amazing vendors who made this happen must of had a ball bringing with this one. The details and colors are a perfect interpretation of Sofia’s board!
I am a little biased for two reasons; first this shoot includes all of my favorite colors and two, I love everything about Brancoprata!
Check out the rest of this shoot here. It is absolutely BANANAS!

Congratulations Sofia!

Wedding Board Inspiration # 32 – Nostalgia
Posted on April 1st, 2010One day my children will find the box I keep all the special things I have saved from the very first dates that David and I went on, the palaces we have travelled to together and, of course, our wedding celebration.
When they open this special box, I hope it will give them a glimpse of how the happiest days of my life began and how we lived and loved. I thought about that special box while creating this board.
