{the inspired palette} Masquerade
Posted on February 3rd, 2011The mood of “Masquerade” is sexy, dark, and exotic. Colors such as these are perfect for an evening wedding celebration in any season. This opulent palette also works well for theme weddings; think Venetian Masquerade or Mardi Gras ball. However, you do not need a theme to pull off this rich palette. It stands alone beautifully.
Incorporate dark blooms such as calla lilies, dahlias, ranunculus, black tulips, chocolate cosmos, and purple lisianthus in your bouquet and floral decor. Add feathers and silvery gray-green dusty miller, and lamb’s ear to add texture and subtle contrast.

Inspiration Board # 56 – The Rehearsal
Posted on October 4th, 2010This inspiration board is abounding with soft colors! Shades of brown are used to enhance and liven up the various shades of blues and pinks without being too distracting or overbearing. Because of brown’s ability to work with almost any color combination, it is often used to accent and pull the softer elements of a palette together. The colors in this board would work well in a winter or spring wedding.

Board # 55 – A Farewell To Summer
Posted on September 1st, 2010Even in sunny southern California, the weather has begun to change. I can feel the slight chill in the air and the colors of the sunsets are suddenly richer and deeper. Very much like the colors we associate with autumn.
For now, I will put away the sundresses that I wore to gatherings and exchange the sleeveless tanks for pull over sweaters. I will eagerly wait for the first cool day to wear my favorite pair of boots. Eventually, I will move the cardigans to the front of the closet so that I remember to bring one with me for our evening strolls during which, I am sure, Mr. G and I will talk about the summer that ended all too soon.

Inspiration Board #53 – Summer Cottage
Posted on July 13th, 2010Lately, I have been infatuated with cottages and shabby chic decor, which I have been told is still chic. Regardless, if it is or not, there is a side of me that would one day love a little cottage by the sea decorated in blush, soft pinks, turquoise, with hints of red. Maybe one day…

Wedding Dress Spotlight – Hanna Touma
Posted on February 1st, 2010Besides the beauty of the dress and it being the perfect shade of turquoise (Pantone’s color of the year), I love the idea of having two outfits for your wedding day. Wear the dress to the ceremony and once the party gets started sneak away to change into your second outfit. All eyes will, again, be on you. Ever so chic!
